Walk in the Gülhane Park
Make time in this megalopolis to seek peaceful corners where you can replenish your energy. Go to the Gülhane Park, one of the oldest and largest of Istanbul. Frequented by many people, it is accessible from the Topkapi Palace. Cross the park and stop often to enjoy roasted sunflower seeds, have a drink or answer an urgent call of nature. Meander along until you reach the Marmara Sea where you will discover the local fishermen whose skin has slowly caramelised under the hot sun whilst fishing with friends on the fishing rocks. You will appreciate this authentic vision of times gone by which linger on still today. You can reach the Galata bridge along the Bosphorus, but our experience shows that you are better off going through the park and so prolong this moment of relaxation.
Getting there : Tram stop Sultanahmet (black tram line), access from the street behind Hagia Sophia "Soguk Çeşme Sk" and the gardens of the Topkapi Palace.
