Away from the beaten track, come and get lost in this beautiful district of Bordeaux where traders compete for inventiveness to offer the best, be it in furniture, clothing, graphic design or antiques.
The district of Notre Dame in Bordeaux, also known as les Chartrons is an exciting neighbourhood, lively and quite different from the Bordeaux you may know. If you take a stroll on the waterfront, walk under the arch at no 82 Quai des Chartrons, heading towards Notre Dame. We particularly recommend Le 101 - Laboratoire d’images et fabrique de mots' (laboratory of images and words factory) located at nr 101 rue Notre Dame. This beautiful shop offers a nice selection of images and claims that "the images of 101 provide solutions to all your problems."
Another very good Bordeaux address is the Ö Design Boutique which will delight lovers of Nordic design. The owner offers a fine selection of the best of Nordic design, vintage items or reissues chosen with great taste.
If you want to immerse yourself in a market atmosphere, stop at the Place du Marche des Chartrons (open Tuesday to Saturday from 7 am to 1 pm), located opposite the Halle des Chartrons which now hosts cultural events.
